Pros
- +Great handle for his size.
- +Incredible vision of the floor; likes to push it in transition on offense.
- +Unorthodox passer; can pass over defenders.
- +Plays at his own pace; throws defenders off balance.
- +Solid deceleration game, when attacking the rim off the dribble.
- +Great shooting form.
- +Effective in the pick-n-roll; seeks the mismatch.
- +Great catch-and-shoot player.
- +Extreme composure and high confidence on the court.
- +Professional, disciplined, and high motor and work ethic.
- +Seen as an unselfish and respected teammate.
- +No concerning medical issues.
Cons
- −Average wingspan.
- −Lacks athleticism needed for NBA.
- −Struggled on the court, both on offense and defense, against athletic players.
- −Doesn't move well laterally. Gets beat off the dribble.
- −Predictable dribble package. If he dribbles left, he wants to create space for a step back jumper.
- −Needs to focus on being more efficient rather than flashy; assist-to-turnover ratio is poor.
- −Given his size and positional advantage, he needs to be more relentless on the glass.
- −Settles for jumpers too often.
- −Needs to get a bit stronger.
- −Very one-way and ball-dominant player. Will struggle in the NBA if he doesn't develop off-ball game, and defensive intangibles.
- −Needs to improve field goal percentage. Under 40% given his positional size is not encouraging.
- −Horrible free throw percentage. If improved by at least 10%, the game would be easier for him.
- −3 point shot was inconsistent; settles too much with the 3.

Overall
Overall, he showed some promise to be a great player in the next level his freshman year at Virginia Tech. However, it didn't translate to winning as one would have hoped. His sophomore year at North Carolina will be a deciding factor this year on whether the initial hype was real or not. I am intrigued to see his development under new North Carolina coach, Mike Malone. I think he could go mid-late 1st round next year, with the potential of jumping up to the lottery if his shooting is more efficient, and if he shows better engagement on defense. As of now, I see him more as a Nikola Jović or a Vít Krejčí.
