Pros

  • +Long guard with length; highly valuable in the NBA. Could play multiple positions.
  • +Aggressive driver who finishes well at the rim.
  • +Solid left-handed shooter with a quick release.
  • +High IQ and smart player who reads and spaces the floor well (especially when backdoor cutting). Should translate well in the NBA.
  • +Crafty ball handler for his size.
  • +Great vision; uses his size to pass over and around the defense.
  • +Constantly hunts for mismatches, whether as a scorer or playmaker.
  • +Plays with an unpredictable rhythm that is off beat for defenders, but on beat for him.
  • +Rebounds well for a guard.
  • +Hard work ethic; constantly wanting to learn and be the best. Praised by coaches for his exceptional maturity.
  • +No serious medical history concerns.

Cons

  • Average wingspan.
  • Needs to add muscle; will lose positional advantage and get pushed around easily.
  • Lack of athleticism.
  • Poor lateral quickness; will get blown by defenders at the NBA level.
  • Should look at developing a consistent floater to his game considering the size and athleticism of the NBA.
  • Predictable when driving: if he dribbles and drives right, he wants to finish at the rim. If he dribbles and drives left, he is looking to shoot (either via stepback, pull-up, or go into a dribble combo).
  • Needs to be stronger with the ball.
  • Will be sought after as a mismatch on defense.
  • Can he become a reliable two-way threat?

Overall

Overall, I think he is an extremely talented draft prospect who fits the modern play style of NBA guards nowadays, who should go top-5. I see him having an impact similar to Josh Giddey or Egor Dëmin, if utilized effectively and under a good coaching and development system. I think he may need a couple of years in the league, however, to get adjusted to the NBA.
